Wireless
Broadband USA has integrated standards-based, proven
wireless technologies to deliver industry-leading capacity,
coverage, security and reliability. The
subscribers will benefit from true broadband, the freedom of
wireless technology and an alternative choice as we
“unwire the last mile.” Using both Line-of-Sight
and Non-Line-of-Sight (NLoS) FWB technology, we will take
advantage of superior network deployment economies while
providing dependable, broadband Internet access and services
with state-of-the-art .equipment.
Service offerings will
include secure connection speeds of up to 1.5 Mbps
(bi-directional) and additional services that utilize the
Internet Protocol (IP) including e-mail with spam and virus
filtering, web hosting, data back-up, secure virtual private
networks (VPNs) and voice over IP.
Market
Our market is based
upon information acquired from the United States Dept of
Agriculture’s own program of bringing the technologies
that are available in urban areas to rural America. We are
told by the U S Census Bureau that an amount of over 340,000
towns qualify for this program. Therefore, our market covers
literally everywhere..
Market
Our plan is to market our services to entrepreneurs
throughout the U S by utilizing tradeshows that are
presented 3 to 4 times a year, to utilize the services of
in-place Agents, and direct communication with cities and
towns that qualify and have a desire to bring broadband to
their community.
This demand is further
enhanced by the fact that broadband is changing from a
luxury to a necessity, introducing new ways to work, to
learn, and to be entertained.
While an estimated 60% of
U.S. households are in areas covered by some form of
broadband access, the remaining 40%, substantially in rural
and exurban areas, have been ignored. These under-served
communities typify our initial target market.
Competition and Competitive Advantage
Competition may be
explained in a couple of ways. Cable delivered services as
one target market is fragmented among different companies
across the country. DSL, though dominant in urban areas, is
an unlikely competitor in rural arena due to the necessary
proximity to the TELCO Central Office. This distance maxes
out at 2.5 to 3 miles. Every technology in this arena must
have buried or elevated cable from “point-to-point” and
while fast, it’s not practical in rural towns due to cost
and time needed to implement. Providers have all been slow
to upgrade and extend their networks to provide full
broadband services. This delay combined with a history of
poor customer service and frequent rate increases has caused
customer frustration and has resulted in the first reported
decrease in cable subscribers within the state of Texas in
over 20 years.
The
implementation of wireless literally takes weeks and
therefore
easily quoted at 120 days from start to completion.
Wireless
Broadband USA will provide the necessary equipment to
the provider so that he may compete against cable and local
exchange carriers as the only company to offer Fixed
Wireless Broadband (FWB) service. We will take “first
mover” advantage in providing a wireless service while
raising the barriers to entry for those that might follow. WBUSA
will build a ubiquitous network that fulfills the demand and
establishes barriers to competitive entry.
